Connor's Big Trip

We are home from our trip to New Mexico. Hopefully I will find the time to scrapbook all of our photos and memories, but today I am very tired. :) So, here are some of my favorite pictures and memories from our trip.

On the plane to NM. Connor did great...he's a morning person, so he was happy on a 7:30am flight. :) He also did well on the drive through the mountains, stopping to nurse and change diapers, etc.

I really like Los Alamos. We took a nice walk with Connor and he loved looking at all the trees and enjoyed the cool breezes. Very different than Phoenix. :)

His Grandpa Darrell took him to see the ducks at the pond

Grandpa and Grandma also got him a Pooh walker, which he loved. It was also a good place to sit him down to eat. He ate a ton of avocado while we were there.

Connor warmed up to Grandma and Grandpa quickly (he hadn't seen them since he was about a week old!). He loved playing with Grandma and gave her a lot of heart-melting smiles...

We went to Grandpa Darrell's church on Sunday. This is Berta, the Baby Whisperer. She took Connor and held him and rocked him, and to our amazement Connor slept peacefully in her arms. Berta is definitely a good grandma! :)

This is an area I really love near Los Alamos. We drove through these mountains on our way back to the airport. Nick brought me here during our first weekend together, nearly 7 years ago! It was beautiful then and of course hasn't changed a bit. I am so happy we had a chance to come back here and take pictures again, now with our newly expanded family. :)

We visited a small aquarium before going to the airport. It was fun and Connor loved to look at all of the sea creatures in the tanks!

Nick enjoyed showing Connor all of the exhibits. He's very good about explaining things to Connor and encouraging him to touch and explore plants, flowers, animals, etc.

The aquarium was really fun for Connor and we enjoyed watching his reactions. Here he is babbling to a fish. This tank had some very cool sharks in it too!

After this, we headed to the airport. Going through security with a sleeping baby and a ton of stuff is not fun at all. Poor Connor was exhausted at this point, and had screamed in the car and then screamed and cried in the airport waiting room. Truthfully, we've never seen him melt down so much. :( He was ready to go home I guess. Thankfully he was happy during the actual flight and we made it home in one piece. My mom and dad were waiting with a clean house, all our laundry done and a homemade dinner. Just what this exhausted mommy needed! :)

All in all, it was a great trip and we feel like we accomplished a big goal having taken our baby on his first trip.
