Speech Evaluation
Since Connor's pediatrician made the recommendation for a speech evaluation, Connor has made a ton of progress in that area. We called to let them know this but they thought we should still go ahead with the appointment. I honestly felt very silly doing so, but off we went.
Of course everything went great. Connor warmed up to the therapist right away and within a few minutes was sitting on her lap, talking and making her laugh. She went through a questionnaire with us and observed Connor playing and interacting. In the end she said she still had to grade the test, but from what she could see Connor is doing really great.
Connor charmed her so much, at the end of our appointment she told us that she wished she had to recommend therapy just so she could spend more time with Connor. :) She doesn't get many cuddly, friendly, interactive kids.
So all went as expected really. I guess it was nice to get the official thumbs up, but we were far from concerned. In fact, we've been blown away by Connor's talking lately.. He repeats new words constantly and often remembers them and uses them the next day without prompting.
My favorite thing these days is his interaction with Bentley. He has learned to tell Bentley "go", "sit" and "stay". It's so cute! He's also using more sentences. The other day he went to the park with Nick and afterward told me "fun with Daddy!".
That is that as far as speech evaluations go. We will get the official report in the mail later and that will be interesting to read, but we're glad this is all over now. :)
