Another Year

Nick had a terrific birthday this year. I think having a little boy has made it a lot easier for Nick to get into fun things other than video games. In the past, getting him a gift was always tough because about all Nick wanted to do was play video games so all the guy got was Best Buy gift cards. Bo-ring! And beyond that, I found it very difficult to think of anything to surprise him with. I love giving gifts, I am just not good at coming up with ideas. Let's just say it's not my primary love language. :)

So, this year we've been doing a lot of airplane themed activities for Connor. That made it easy for me to come up with a gift for Nick. After browsing hobby shops and commenting on how cool the remote control helicopters are, I decided that would be a fun surprise gift. Between both our parents and me, we managed to get him a helicopter he LOVES. Plus Nick was very surprised, so that thrilled me. :) He's been having a lot of fun playing with it and Connor of course loves watching it fly. We recently got together with a couple and their toddler son. It was quite funny watching two grown men and two little boys, all watching this helicopter fly with the same look of excitement on their faces. :) Boys and their toys!

We celebrated the rest of Nick's birthday with a few outings to a fun park, the zoo, and plenty of Nick's favorite foods (such as Frito Pie, an unhealthy snack that poor Nick only gets on his birthday. lol).

I can't help but post a few photos...my two boys just a year ago and my boys today. My goodness, how much babies change! *sob*
