Easter Fun!

Easter Sunday was a great day! Our dear friends Matt and Jenny were going to join us for an egg hunt and dinner, but Jenny came down with an awful cold. Matt stayed home to take care of Jenny and we took their 4-year old daughter Trinity with us to my parents' house. Hailey was there of course, and another little boy named Noah who lives nearby. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs.

Nick's 3rd, yes THIRD, birthday cake. Is he spoiled or what? :-)

Celebrating again with the family. This was his best cake out of the 3, because it was homemade by Mom! :-)

Our Easter photo

Hailey and Trinity in their bunny ears, hopping like bunnies

Jonas, being humiliated by little girls who insist on dressing him up. :-)

More hopping

The girls got a bubble set in their Easter baskets and greatly enjoyed blowing bubbles and chasing them all over the yard

Trinity also enjoyed my mom's turtles. This one is Scampers

We had a terrific day. As you can see, we had the most beautiful weather. It was the perfect day to remember the sole basis for our faith: the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. He is ALIVE! He said He'd die and rose again and He DID. He said He's coming back for us again and He WILL! Thank you Jesus!! "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!" -Luke 24: 5-6a
We loved this warm, beautiful day to celebrate and enjoy. Thank you Lord for blue skies and sunshine! It was so warm in fact, the kids really wanted to go swimming! No one had their swimsuits though, so they had to be content with splashing around on the step.

My brothers and I are all in our mid-late 20's and yet this is the FIRST year our mother has not made us hunt for eggs. She's hilarious! We always had fun doing it. What can I say, we're really good at being kids for a day. :-) But this year it was all about the actual little kids and we had fun watching them enjoy themselves. In true Arizona fashion, we did not do a "traditional" Easter dinner but instead grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ chicken and had potato salad and a fruit salad for dinner. It was great! Now our long, fun weekend is over and I need to go to bed.
Hope everyone had a very happy and blessed Easter!
