So, on this day the place was packed and Connor had abandoned his chair between us, leaving it as the only empty place to sit. A soldier walked in and sat there while Connor was running around. When Connor came running back, he halted in front of the Army guy and stared in disbelief. I could see his face go from confused to indignant.
"Mommy! There's an Army guy in my seat!" he told me. Connor calls all soldiers "Army guy".
The soldier immediately started to apologize and move, but we told him to stay since Connor never sat and stayed put. But Connor huddled on my lap and apparently looked quite wounded because the poor soldier got up and said (very good natured) "I'll move; he looks upset".
I felt bad because the poor guy had to go sit in a corner all by himself. We suggested to Connor that he go over and say thank you. And he did.
It was very cute and I wish I could have taken a picture. You see, when Connor goes over to talk to anyone, he gets very close. If the person is sitting, Connor will turn around and back into them until he makes himself tucked into the crook of their arm or between their knees. He then takes the persons hand, or puts his hand on their arm and speaks to them. It's completely adorable and sweet. It was especially precious to see him snuggled up to this huge strong soldier dressed in fatigues. The soldier was a young guy and seemed very kind. He patted Connor gently on the back and listened to him patiently with a big smile on his face. So, so sweet.
Finally it was Connor's turn to get his hair cut. He never fusses about it, but he does have a hard time keeping his head still. So, this is what happens:
He sure loves his favorite barber! :)
As we were leaving, Connor's new Army guy buddy called out "Bye Connor!". :)
Connor always looks so much older after he gets a hair cut:
