We had what was probably our best Valentine's Day ever. Perhaps the only other one to beat this was the year Nick got sent home from Iraq for two weeks of R & R and arrived home on Valentine's Day. :-)
We have been very blessed this year to be able to take a vacation. We haven't been away, just the two of us, in two years. We found the perfect cruise (with a rockin' military discount! Woo-hoo!) and booked it on Saturday. We've been having fun getting our flights booked, picking out shore excursions, etc. More details to come...we're leaving in less than a month!
I got a very romantic and wonderful gift from my sweet husband this year: a gorgeous opal ring. I was very surprised! Don't I have the best husband? :-)

Reservations on Valentine's Day are hard to come by and we ended up going for an early dinner at a new restaurant someone highly recommended. It's called
Brio and we were blessed to discover that a friend of my mom's knows the owners and we ended up with a coupon for a free appetizer! How cool is that?

Nick's drink was called an Italian Wedding Cake. It tasted just like pineapple upside down cake!

My peach Bellini. I love anything peachy...it was delicious!
Brio is Italian and the decor was very Roman. It was gorgeous! The food was amazing and the service was too. Our appetizer of a variety of bruchettas (shrimp, steak, sausage, and red pepper) was very filling and delicious. I order lobster bisque and Nick got pasta alla vodka. We realized that our food was all color coordinated. lol!
Dessert was the best though. They serve a wide range of mini desserts in cute little espresso cups. We got our absolute favorite, creme brulee, in a sampler of three (peanut butter, caramel, and brown sugar). Yeah, we were stuffed after all that!

We walked around the mall for about 2 hours, then saw a movie. It was a wonderful, romantic day!
