Colorado Wilderness Experience

We recently met up with some Arizona friends that were here in CO visiting family for the holidays. They have a little girl Connor's age and another baby. We haven't seen them since we moved, so it was really fun to get together. They suggested taking all the kids to a museum we'd never heard of: The Colorado Wilderness Experience.

What a fun place! Connor was in heaven and the kids really enjoyed playing together.

They all had so much fun playing dress up!

It was so neat that they had a place for kids to dress up like a penguin and slide down ice! The kids LOVED this and slid forever.

Penny loved hugging Connor. She also ran around a lot looking for Connor and calling "Connor? Connor?" all day. Connor was good with her, although I had to laugh when we all sat to eat lunch. Penny was next to Connor and singing and chattering away. Now, Connor himself is a big talker too but apparently having another kid talking to him all day was an issue at that point. He took a bite of his food, looked at me and sighed and said "Mommy, my friend is so loud!". :)

Lots of the animals in the exhibits were animated and very realistic, moving and making noises. It was very cool! They had a somewhat scarily realistic alligator that even Connor seemed a bit frightened of:

Our friends had to leave after a few hours to put the baby down for a nap. Connor dragged us around for another good hour. I think he would have stayed all day if we had let him!
