There are a few cats around here that visit, but this guy is a new one. He showed up just days after we lost Harvey.
He's a sweet cat and I fed him and gave him water, but we can't afford the vet bills to take in another animals right now. I feel bad about it, especially since it's getting so cold. :(
He's really great with Connor and they play outside sometimes. We put a box with some old blankets and towels in it on the deck, so the cat at least has a shelter to go curl up in when it's really cold.
He comes and goes. He sure looks like a cat who belongs to someone; he's clean and looks well fed already. He usually shows up at least once a day though, meowing at the back door.

Do you have a source of stray anywhere (not hay)? You can put straw in the box so it won't freeze when it's cold and wet like a blanket.
